Google Adsense Scam

Google has been in the business for some time. From the beginning they have had the motto, "Do no Evil." However, I believe Google is breaking away from there non evil heritage. I believe this has been going on for some time. Years ago I ran a computer hardware review site. This was a very small time site and it didn't stay active long. Part of the reason for this was that the site was banned from Google Adsense. The excuse was invalid clicks. Hardware was expensive and because it was such a small site review samples from manufacturers where quite rare and with absolutely no revenue the site quickly became vacant of any updates and died. The only reason it still lives today is because I used the name in my current business.

Years later after I started my computer repair business I decided that i wanted to make a simple landing page with search, weather, and news that I could use as a home page for new systems. For this I used Google custom search attached to an Adsense account. After about a year it was banned as well. The excuse given was invalid clicks. At this point i knew without a shadow of a doubt that I could not have been responsible because I block Google ads on all of my computers. I have been doing this for quite a few years because I got sick and tired of the ads on YouTube.

I decided a while back that I wanted my own blog that was not related to my company site that I could use for spreading quality information or just writing about something that I didn't want to forget about, believe it or not many of the articles here are actually my notes and I figured I might as well share them with people. That's how this site was born. I had Adsense working great and because of the content the ads where very relevant and I believed actually made a great addition to the site. However, it did not take long before this site was banned from Adsense as well.

Now in the last 10 or so years I have had 3 sites banned from Google for exactly the same reason, invalid clicks. I though, this cannot be a quintessence so I decided to do some research and found that I was not alone. There are literally thousands of sites that have all been banned for the same reason. In fact its the only reason I have found for Google to ban any site is invalid clicks. I am sure in all fairness many could have actually been creating invalid clicks. However, out of the sites that I believed where telling the truth I could only find 2 things in common. The first thing was that they are all small sites, most maintained by one person on a very small budget. The second thing they all have in common was that every single one, including all 3 of mine, where about to be paid for the first time. It hit me like a ton of bricks. Google ripped me off. Google used my site to display ads and then banned me right before I would have been rightfully paid for that advertising. I could understand if a mistake was made but it became really obvious really quick that this was no mistake but rather common thievery. Even worce the sites that Google does this to are small and have no way to fight back against a multi billion dollar company.

Below I have a copy of the email Google sent me.

After reviewing our records, we've determined that your AdSense account poses a risk of generating invalid activity. Because we have a responsibility to protect our AdWords advertisers from inflated costs due to invalid activity, we've found it necessary to disable your AdSense account. Your outstanding balance and Google's share of the revenue will both be fully refunded back to the affected advertisers.

Please understand that we need to take such steps to maintain the effectiveness of Google's advertising system, particularly the advertiser-publisher relationship. We understand the inconvenience that this may cause you, and we thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

If you have any questions or concerns about the actions we've taken, how you can appeal this decision, or invalid activity in general, you can find more information by visiting

The Google AdSense Team

According to this email Google claims that in order to protect there advertisers they feel its necessary to disable my Adsense account. So in a nut shell Google steals from me and then to pour salt in the wound they blame me. This is like someone stealing from my business and then saying it was my fault and getting away with it. Google will not answer my emails and consequently will not provide any proof that I did anything at all wrong. The worse part is I have absolutely no recourse other then to bring attention to this blatant theft. I did cancel my Adwords account because of this. I figured why should I give money to a company that stole from me. When I did this an Adwords rep called me and I told them why I canceled my account and they just said OK, and provided no additional information other then I can email Adsense support. However, it doesn't much matter. I have an Android phone and I use Google as a search engine, that probably will not change any time soon. The problem I have is its people like us that support Google. We are the ones that made Google what it is today. Its because of hackers and geeks that Google is dominate. What do they do to repay us for this, they steal from us, and then blame us.

All I hope is that someone at Google reads this. I want them to know that what they are doing is blatantly obvious. This site does not need to make money, the intention of the site from the beginning was to share information. Honestly I liked the ads because they gave the site value. At most because of the traffic this site gets its takes close to a year to even make $100 from Adsense. That kind of spilled milk is hardly enough to cry about. Most of my articles have to do with hacking or Linux subjects and the ads where actually great. So if anyone is truly loosing out its Google's advertisers because now a relevant place to put there ads is no longer available. In the big picture though Google doesn't care. They have now gotten well over $300 in free advertising from me over the years and made tons of money off of all of the other sites they have also done this to. In total this kind of thievery could possibly make Google millions a year, and they don't have to be accountable for any of it. Does that sound like a company that goes by the motto "Do no Evil", No I didn't think so ether. Its honestly a shame because before this I held Google in very high regard. Now I think there no better then Microsoft and Apple. I guess it was only a mater of time before they became Evil to.
